composantes« The great divide between painting and poetry, at least in critical circles, remains as formidable today as it was in the eighteenth century. Like the rhetorical figure ekphrasis, the concept of intermédialité has been defined by the transgression of borders, institutional or otherwise. If ekphrasis is a landmark in the history of intermédialité, a figure of exchange between image, a voice and a gramma, it also offers it also offers some insight into the nature of the new concept’s geography. It seems clear now that both geography and history belong to the concept’s composantes, elements that are constitutive of what is described and what is defined. » |
